The documents you need for your tax preparation will be based on your need. Below are some documents that will need to bring for your tax appointment.
Personal Information

Your spouse's full name, social security number, and date of birth

Identity PIN (given to you and or spouse by the IRS for the previous tax year)

Banking account and routing numbers to receive your refund direct deposit or pay any balances owed.

Residency information (your current address and or previous address for your W-2)
Dependent(s) Information

Dates of birth and social security cards

Childcare records (including the providers tax ID number) if applicable

Income of dependents living in the home (adults and children)

Form 8332 from the custodial parent validating the child's right to be claimed by you, the noncustodial parent (if applicable).​

Schedules K-1
Records of all expenses: receipts, credit card payments
Business use asset information including (cost, date placed in service) for depreciation
Office in home information, if applicable
Record of estimated tax payments made (Form 1040-ES)

Pension/IRA/annuity income (1099-R)
Social security/RBR income: SSA-1099. RRB-1099
